The picture effect is different. Acrylic paints have the features of quick drying and strong adhesion power which make it impossible for different colors to permeate. So the picture effect of acrylic paintings lacks the massiness and abundance of oil paintings. Oil paintings have the beauty of color layers. The effect of classical oil painting is gained by the cover of layers of different colors. The effect of the color of acrylic paintings depends on the color on the top layer rather than the result of painting layers upon layers. If the work is a knife painting or the color is thick, it must be an oil painting. Acrylic paints are fluidable and cannot create the massiness effect.
