Gerhard Richter, born in 1932, a German visual artist with painting style of abstractionism and photographic realism, and is also excellent in photography and glass art. His works are influenced by Picasso to a certain extent and embody the characteristics of conceptualism.

In 7 October, 2016, Gerhard’s oil on canvas “Garden” with his signature in 1982 was auctioned for 10.229 million Pounds in Sotheby’s “Modern Art Evening Auction”, which is much higher than the evaluation of 3 or 4 million Pounds. The size of the painting is 260*200 cm.
