Called “Zhang in the South and Qi in the North”, contemporary Chinese Splash-ink painter, calligrapher Chang Dai-chien travaled world around all his life and gained international fame widely. Created in 1948, Guanyin in Early Tang Style is his masterpiece of his facsimile of Dunhuang frescoes. This work was sold for 50,520 thousand Hong Kong dollars (about 6534 thousand US dollars) at Christie’s auctions on May 31st, 2016.
