Art
Art
Art is to express a simple or complicated conception or consciousness in certain ways or with certain media so that in certain degree or from certain aspect, its beauty can attract us indirectly to think over its meaning or that we have to ponder over in order to get its meanings, or we cannot figure out the meaning even after our reflection. (The expression of this sentence itself is a reappearance of poor “art”.) In short, art is to express a conception or consciousness in certain way.
So far, the way and depth one chooses to express distinguishes the level of art.
One can call a piece of colorful abstractionist picture “Chinese cabbage”, but no one can understand its meaning from the composition and intention of the picture.
No matter how enigmatical your art is, it has to be understood, even though it is like Boya’s encounter with Ziqi (an ancient story in China which tells the encounter between Boya, a music player and Ziqi, the only one who can truly understand Boya’s music). Otherwise, it is fake art. Here I mention Ziqi with no intention of encouraging you to create your work only for “Ziqi”, in which way you will be more and more stubborn.
