Diego Rivera Biography:

Diego Rivera, 1886-1957, was a prominent Mexican painter of wall works and the husband of Frida Kahlo, establish the Mexican Mural Movement in Mexican art.  

In 1931, an exhibition of Diego Rivera paintings was held at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. The artist repainted Man at the Crossroads in 1934 in the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City. In 1940, He painted a mural for the Golden Gate International Exposition in San Francisco.  Diego, Frida, and Leon Trotsky are principal characters in Barbara Kingsolver's novel, The Lacuna.
