German artist Gerhard Richter (1932 - ) is one of the most popular living artists stars in the art market. His large scale oil paintings are usually sold for a high price (tens of millions of pounds) at auctions. He is not only good at abstract and realistic painting, but also does well in photography and glass art. His works are influenced by Picasso in some degree and also displays conceptualist feature.

At Sotheby’s Contemporary Art Evening Auctions in 8th, March, 2017, his oil painting on canvas Eisberg was sold for 17.70875 million pounds. This work was created in 1982 and the size is 100.5 cm X 151 cm.
