Liu Guosong’s Blue Moon Landscape was Sold for 4.88 Million HongKong Dollars at Sotheby Auction
Liu Guosong (1932 - ) is a contemporary Taiwan painter and educator born in Anhui province. He advocates “the modernization of traditional Chinese painting” and strives for the popularization of modern ink painting. He teaches at several universities in Hong Kong and America. He has caught the attention of the world with his outstanding painting style and unique painting materials. His works are collected by the British Museum, the Palace Museum in Beijing and other famous art museums around the world.

Blue Moon Landscape is the representative work of Liu Guosong. He combines the techniques of ink, colour and collage to paint on a 224.5 cm X 151.3 cm paper. This work was sold for 4.88 million HKD at Hong Kong’s “Journey to Contemporary Ink Art” auction in 4th, October, 2016.
