Rudolf Stingel (1956 - ) is a conceptional painter and installation artist who was born in Italy and resides in America. In 2007 when he was holding respective exhibitions in New York and Chicago, he installed silver reflect light acoustic panels on the wall as an installation work on which audiences can engrave freely. Later on, he selected some of them to make copper plates and gilded them with gold so as to be a series of sculptures. One of the series was completed in 2012 and entitled “Untitled”, which was sold for 15.68 Million Hong Kong dollars on October 3rd, 2016. The material of this piece is galvanized cast copper, nickel and gold, and the size is 120 x 100.3 CM.
