- At Sotheby’s Auction in 7th October, 2016, a collage with the hammer price of 10.565 million Pounds was quite noteworthy. It’s a price many times the evaluation of 3.5 to 4.5 million Pounds. This collage is on the canvas framed by wood with a collage of Acrylic color, paint stick and papers. It is Jean-Michel Basquiat’s (1960-1988) work and a fine piece of expressionist painting completed in 1982, with a size of 152.4*152.4cm.
Jean-Michel Basquiat is a mix-blood of Puerto Rico and Haiti and is multilingual. He have shown his great artist talent from his childhood, but passed away all of a sudden in the age of 28 years old unfortunately.
