Kinuko Y. Craft Biography:
Kinuko Y. Craft (1940 - ) is an American painter, illustrator, and writer and is one of the most respected and renowned fantasy artists in the world today. Through her works, she conveys her love for beauty and pursuit of art. Her works are filled with magic and mystery, depicting the infinite possibilities of the fantasy world through delicate brushstrokes and rich colors. She was born in Kami-zaki-cho, Japan and graduated from the Kanazawa College of Art. Her past commissions include book covers for famous fantasy writers, opera posters, fairy tale storybooks, and cover illustrations for almost all major national magazines. Her works not only appear in various publications but also adorn the covers of novels by many well-known authors, as well as designing opera posters and illustrating picture books. Her works have been exhibited in private collections, public art museums, and exhibitions worldwide, and she has illustrated many picture books that are beloved by readers. Her works have won numerous awards in various art exhibitions and competitions. She has also received the Gold and Silver Awards from the Association of Illustrators in the United States, the Grand Master Award from the Society of Illustrators in America, and various honors from the 1990s.
