Luo Zhongli Biography:
Luo Zhongli (1948-; Chinese name 罗中立), born in the city of Chongqing, is a Chinese painter, educator. He was the dean of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and is now the dean of Chinese Contemporary Academy of Arts and also in charge of many other positions. His works have been on show at many exhibitions at home and abroad and have won many prizes. His works are collected by the National Art Museum of China, National History Museum of Belgium, and Taiwan Mount Gallery. He has published albums of paintings Luo Zhongli’s Oil Painting Collection and Selection of Luo Zhongli’s Oil Paintings. His representative work—1981 oil painting Father—is considered to be a milestone of contemporary art history. His work The Spring Silkworms was sold for 43.7 million RMB at 2014 Beijing Poly’s Spring Auctions.
