Bridgman made his Salon debut in 1868 and would continue to successfully show pictures throughout Europe and America for several decades. He exhibited Women Drawing Water from the Nile during the monumental 1876 Centennial Exposition in Philadelphia, which attracted an unprecedented 10 million viewers (Manufacturer and Builder, November 1876, vol. 8, issue 11, pp. 244-245).
